The TACHE Homeschool Band is composed of Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion, we learn the basics of instrumental music in a Christ-centered group performance setting. We currently offer three levels - Blue Beginner, Gold Intermediate, and Honors Band.

Each band performs concerts for the community in the fall and spring. In addition, we attempt to provide enriching experiences for our students without encroaching too much on their schedules, and have had the opportunity to participate in community events. Our Gold and Honors Bands have played pep band, drumline and fight songs at HEAT Football games, as well as marched in local parades, performed for the residents at a local retirement community, and performed with Tyler Community Band. Honors Band has offered the opportunity to compete in TMEA All-Region and Solo and Ensemble competitions.

We rehearse Thursday afternoons in central Tyler, with daily practice required at home.

All TACHE members who are ages 10 through high school are eligible to play in the band and no experience is required. Prospective members sign up for instrument testing appointments late spring/early summer and band camp is held in August. New students with no experience are only accepted in the fall semester. Experienced students may be admitted during the school year with an audition.
